How It Works

From brief to deliverable.
Every time.

The Swim Out runs a structured 5-step project lifecycle. Whether you're a graduate looking for your first real role or an employer who needs something delivered — here's exactly what happens.

The graduate journey

01

Register your interest

2 minutes

Tell us your degree subject, skills, and availability. No application form, no cover letter, no experience required. We keep your details on file and match you when a suitable project launches.

02

Get matched to a cohort

When a project launches

We assemble a cohort of 3–5 graduates based on skills, availability, and project fit. You'll be introduced to your team before kick-off day so you're not walking in cold.

03

Kick-off day

Day 1

Your cohort meets the employer. The brief is unpacked in full, roles are assigned, and a delivery plan is agreed together. You leave knowing exactly what you're building and why.

04

Project delivery

4–8 weeks

Work on the project at flexible hours around your life. Regular check-ins with The Swim Out keep you on track. Clear milestones, real accountability, and a team around you throughout.

05

Showcase & close

Final week

Present your completed work to the employer. This is your moment — a real audience, a real outcome, a real achievement you can talk about in every interview from here on.
